Rev. George Neal Foster, age 88, of Winchester, Tenn. departed this life on Friday, December 30, 2016, at Tennova Healthcare in Tullahoma, Tenn., following an extended illness. Bro. Foster was born in Huntsville, Alabama to the late Ed Foster and Nicie Neal Foster. Bro. Foster was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church in Estill Springs. He was a minister for over 55 years pastoring at various Churches in Franklin, Grundy and DeKalb Counties in Tennessee. He also was employed at the former Decherd-Franklin and Lanier Clothing factories before their closing. Bro. Foster loved bluegrass music and played the guitar, fiddle, banjo and almost anything else with strings. He was a real "people person". The most rewarding and enjoying thing in his life was winning souls for Christ. Even in the hospital before his heavenly father called him home, he was witnessing to the nurses or anyone that came in the room about his Lord and Savior.
Bro. Foster is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Nadine Foster of Winchester, sons; Ben Foster also of Winchester and Tim Foster of Des Moines, Iowa, daughters; Juanita Foster of Belvidere and Carolyn Williams of Cowan, Tenn., 8-grandchildren and 7, great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Bro. Foster will be held from 12:00 noon on Sunday, January 1, 2017, until Service time at 2:30 with Bro. Carl Tucker, officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Garner Cemetery in Decherd.
